Sauna

I have couple of pictures about different "sauna-styles". We have tested how it feels to take sauna in tent. Actually it feels quite qood, because there is much steam on the air, as you can see ;)

Sauna was located at small mountain in Norway, near small lake. Lake's water was just above freezing point, there was actually icecubes swimming along us... But it feels good to first take 60-80 degrees celsius at sauna and then go directly to 4 degrees water. Refreshing.

Another great place for sauna is crust of frozen snow at middle of winter.

We nearly got ill because of that black steam coming from old oil-barrel... But finaly we got our tent over the barrel and started to enjoy.

Air was well below zero, about minus 10-20 degrees celsius. But at sauna temperature was hot enough.

Of course there is more "peaceful" degree of sauna. This is our own flathouse sauna, same sauna where temperature readings are coming with linux etc. etc.

I bet that our cats, Piuku and Muumi won't come to tent-sauna ;)

Here are couple of misc pictures...

We live in those flathouses. (Until we got enough money to buy or build our own...) Picture was taken from Cessna C-172.

Here in Finland temperatures can go well below zero... At this night the was minus 28 degrees celsius. That little "tent" is called laavu. We build a small fire before it and fire keeps us warm. (Usually there is quite enough of smoke too...)

Finnish Lappland can be quite pleasant and peaceful place to visit. Lots of snow (at middle of winter 1-2 meters.), clear lakes and clean nature.

Hope that this gives some clue of Finnish people ;)
